Brand New Album by My Favorite Spoken Word Poet Emily Joy

She's my favorite spoken word poet.

Raw. Intense. Deep.

Don't let that mohawk fool you. She holds a degree in Philosophical Theology and Apologetics from Moody Bible Institute.

She also happens to be my daughter.

And she just came out with her first spoken word album... and it's FREE to listen to right here... right now.
You can also purchase the six poem album as mp3 downloads for whatever price you want even if it's zero. No joke. All you have to do is click the word, "Download" above. (Do I need to mention that she's a starving artist?)

To schedule her, go here.

To view a video of her live performance, go here.

Everything I've included here plus lyrics to the poems are all found at www.emilyjoypoetry.com.

I have never heard anything quite like this. I had no idea what spoken word poetry was until now. It's amazing, truly moving and completely raw. I love it!! Nice job Em!

When I was listening to Emily's work this came to my mind. The last time I heard a spoken word poet was at this hip-hop church in chi-town called the House. She should check it out. It is a branch of the Lawndale Community Church.

Just a thought. I bet she could meet some people there who could encourage her in her art.

Tracks 5 and 6 are some of the closest things I've seen to biblical lament in contemporary Christian art. The people of God need to hear this. You must be very proud, Bill!
