A life-changing book!

"This Has Changed Me Forever" Dear Bill, One year ago, I received an email from you —challenging  me to read the Bible through with some friends. It was life-changing.   After receiving your email, I forwarded it to a few friends from my church. I also printed off copies of the "guilt-free" year-long reading Bible reading schedule and gave them to members of our church—encouraging them to embark on this faith filled journey.  A few started, some are still working on it, but two of us are finishing on December 31st.  It has been an incredible journey. Tough at times. But by far the most rewarding life-changing experience for us.  So thank you. If you had not sent the email, it probably never would of happened. I feel I have such a deeper understanding of God, Jesus, and what I should be do in doing with my life.  This has changed me forever!!!!  So I once again this year, we are encouraging others to give it a try. 7 Christmas gifts you hope you don't get...

7. I hope I'm never ready for "PowerBalding," whatever that is. 6. As far as I'm concerned, the words "fruit" and "cake" should never be near each other. 5. No comment. 4. Funny but not practical. 3. After seven kids, we don't really sleep that much or well. Not sure having the kitchen in the bedroom is the answer. 2. Full disclosure: I already received this gift from my best friends, Dave and Rennie Garda. It made me LOL. It's still in the box. 1. This last one is a short video and goes out to all my Bears and Packers friends... If video doesn't appear, go here . Please send me pictures of the worst gifts you have received. And if you're wondering what we'd LOVE to get for Christmas, consider one or more of these... 1.  Invest in disciplemaking via the Allisons and Cadre Missionaries 2.  Join our email prayer team  ("prayer team" in subject line) 3.  Bring Cadre

Rethinking Youth Ministry...

[Note: This news article is why I will continue to invest the rest of my short life infecting the next generations with D3 Jesus-like disciplemaking .] Former Archbishop of Canterbury warns Christianity at risk of dying out in a generation Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, has a warning for Christian churches: Attract young people to the faith or risk losing it forever. According to The Telegraph, Carey said Christianity is just a “generation away from extinction” in Britain unless churches have a breakthrough in attracting young people.  Clergy are gripped by a “feeling of defeat” and congregations are worn down by “heaviness," he said. Carey said the public greets both with “rolled eyes and a yawn of boredom," according to The Telegraph.  Carey made his remarks at a Shrewsbury conference discussing how the church could be "re-imagined."  “So many people do not see the average church as a place where great things happen," he s

The Stressed-Out Santa, a Grumpy Little Angel, and a Very Large Christmas Tree

Not long ago and very far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip, but there were problems everywhere. Four of the elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular elves, so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.  Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more.  When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More stress!  Then when Santa began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and his big red toy bag toppled to the ground and scattered toys everywhere.  Totally frustrated, Santa went into the house to calm his nerves with a cup of hot coffee. When he opened the kitchen cabinet, he discovered that elves had finished off the last of the coffee and there was nothing left to drink.  In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot
