A Parenting Strategy NOT Endorsed by Focus on the Family
Before we had kids, my wife and I had seven keys to raising kids.
Now we have seven kids... and no keys.
So I've been reflecting on how we've raised our kids so far—now ages 5-25.
Here's the only identifiable parenting strategy I can see that we've deployed up to this point:
Since kids have a tendency to grow up and rebel against their parents, I decided long ago to take some preventive measures. I—as a father—have stayed wild, crazy, and whacked so, that as my kids grow older, they will rebel against me—and thus turn out normal.
Okay.
This strategy may not be working all that well.
But I'm having the time of my life.

That's gotta count for something!
