Why the smallest things you do today matter...

If video doesn't appear, go here.

It's true: The smallest moments can have the biggest impact.

Yet, let's be honest. For the most part in our culture small is not valued and is often viewed as failure.

But not so with Jesus.

Jesus' Kingdom is an upside-down Kingdom.

Don't think so?

Check out Jesus on the topic of small...

"Then Jesus said, 'What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches.'” —Luke 13:18-19

A read through any of the four Gospels clearly shows that Jesus' invested his life making disciplemakers. For the most part, Jesus' disciplemaking way of life was under the radar, undetected, and, well, it was like He was planting a tiny mustard seed.

But this is precisely where we need to keep in mind what Jesus said about planted mustard seeds.

Just like in his parable, God made the small—Jesus' investment in a cadre of others—world-wide. In about 270 years after Jesus' death and resurrection, Jesus' followers spread His disciplemaking way of life like a life-giving infectious disease—so much that it rivaled the entrenched paganism of the Roman Empire. And 2,000 years later, here we are still talking about Jesus and his disciplemaking genius.

I think it's safe to say this:
When it comes to building the kingdom of God like Jesus did—through infecting others with a Jesus-like disciplemaking way of living—the smallest of seeds have world wide impact.

In other words, Small is the new BIG.

And, ironically, our culture's understanding of BIG turns out to be small by comparison.

Today, YOU are a mustard seed planter.

Just like in the video above, plant well my friend.
